QUEER CRYPTIDS: A POLE DANCE AND BURLESQUE SHOW

Moonlight casts strange shadows on the forest floor, some comfortingly familiar, and others...less so. Figures known only in myth emerge from the trees and begin to congregate in the clearing. Mothman twirls on a narrow tree. The chupacabra bares a slim shoulder. And...is that a pair of pants?

Known only through rare sightings, conspiracy theories, and grainy security cam footage, cryptids find their home halfway between myth and reality. After a fateful Netflix glitch elevated the Babadook to queer icon, cryptids and the queer experience became inextricably linked. Welcome to the world of the Queer Cryptids.

On September 7th, Velvet Nox brings our spotlight to the dark forests and urban jungles where these cryptids lurk. Through burlesque, pole dance, chair dance and belly dance, these performers explore queer identity through the stories of the elusive cryptids.

Will our Reptilian Overlord find love? Will the Flatwoods Monster find acceptance? Will the Wendigo simply devour us all? Join us as we walk deeper into the woods than ever before, and let these cryptids show us their world on their terms.
